Galen Hooks =D
This is not my favorite Galen Hooks piece. There’s something about the cinematography that I don’t enjoy. The beginning seems to set up memories of a lover or friend that is no longer with her, yet the camera and partner are set up from the viewpoint of the camera 70% of the time, which most people do if they want you to imagine yourself as the one interacting with the dancer. If he was meant to be a lover gone away, i would prefer for his movements to be faded in and out (say, do two takes–one with partner and one without, and fade between the two).
