So the thing I love about a lot of hip-hop choreographers on YouTube is the precision and attention to the beats in the music. The thing I like about this video is that the specific beats (s)he chose to highlight shifted with each phrase. I love that the beat wasn’t always highlighted with something heavy. Sometimes it could just be the flick of the wrist, but movement like that brings my attention to things in the music that I would’ve never noticed before.
I love the use of the arms, and that there wasn’t a need to travel across the studio. I wonder how it would affect the overall feel of the piece to travel more though. Would it make the choreography more dynamic? Watching it in one space started to become a little too static at times.
